Snow on the Hoh

« Topic Start: November 05, 2005, 07:55:20 AM »

Sorry for the delay in getting this report up! I hade the pleasure of spending last Sunday out on the Humptulips River with Professor, Codfather and his son Anthony. With all the rain we got last week I wasn't sure what kind of conditions we were going to find, but the river had decent color even though it was on a fast rise. These types of conditions can be some of the toughest as most fish would be on the move. The first hole we came to provided us with a few hookups and I managed to land one nice bright coho hen. That was a good sign and I was hoping to find many more. But that would be it for the coho. We did however find some willing chinook, and landed several, while losing several more. John was able to put us on a few spots that produced multiple hookups, and the day truned out much more productive than I anticipated. The highlight of the trip for me was watching Anthony land a couple of hard fighting chinook that John put him on. This was a real treat. Thanks for the trip John, Reinhold and Anthony...I hope we can do it again sometime. Here are a few pics from the day:

First fish of the day

...and the reults! Grin

Anthony's second nook!

And Codfather's fish

After a long, wet day on the water Anthony finally ran out of gas!

If any of you are looking to hook up with a quality guide for a day on the water, give John a call. He runs a real first class operation! Thanks again John!

I'll tell you that trip was one of Anthony's favorites. John is an awesome guide to fish with, but he is excellent with children. Anthony is way more confident in his casting abilities after spending the day with John. For sure one of the best trips all year for me. Thanks for the great company Brian. I cant thank John enough for taking Jr. under his wing, and getting us into fish throughout the day. great Please look John up, you wont be disappointed.
