Actually for those who are old enough it's Three Dogg Nite. Afro However it was so cold this morning, it would have taken at least three dogs to keep you warm. Well, I found that and  more, though they too were a little chilly. I went looking for Steel and maybe some native Coho to C&R on a local trib and I thought I would give my Rainshadow 1141 a try. I was also packing one of my old fav, a 9'   6 to 10  lami, I have for Steelhead. Well the first bobber down was this nice little Hen Chum. Then a little later this bigger hen. That fish was truly giving the Rainshadow a work out. So, I set down the float rod and picked up the drift rod and with in a couple cast on a corkie and egg combo I had hooked up. That little 5 lb. fish came screaming by and the quick glance I had, it was either Silver or Steel, though I'll never as it came unplugged a short time later. Oh well onto the next hole. It was within the first few cast "bobber down" and it would prove to be another 10# Doggie. A few more of those and I switched to the drift rod. Using Corkie and Eggs, I hooked and landed three more dogs. I think I know the guy that cures up the eggs with the secret sauce that even the Chummies like.. Wink I hooked and landed a 15#+ Buck Doggie on my Steelie rod with yep you gessed it corkie & eggs, and felt like taking it easy for a little bit. So I picked the float rod back up. 1st cast, "bobber down" and man did this fish take off. after quit a long battle up and down the bank on that 1141, I realized that this was a big Coho. I fought that thing for what seemed like for ever on that light gear. When I got her with in a few feet of shore I could see she was a fresh chrome bright, native coho going around 15#. That is also about the time she went into the non-stop-death-rolls and as luck would have it, came un-plugged. :'( All I wanted wqs a picture, but I guess not. A few more doggies to end out the early afternoon and I called it a day. I think I put 8 dogs on the beach, no Steelies to take home, but it sure was a fun moring in the cold, on that light gear... Nice that the chummies were there to keep you busy  Wink  Too bad the big coho came unplugged, but you did what they call the "sportsmans release".  Sounds like a fun morning.
