Another botched trip to the coast due to lower river flows Fri kept me close to home today to get my fix.. found a nice hole that looked liked for sure would hold some chrome and sure enough this hole produced 4 hook-ups but getting fish  out of that jam would prove some fun and skill es[pcially with a spool loaded with 8lb.. i knew this going in but sure was up the task.  first fish was a definate brat got her out and she swam riight in front me into my shadow but blasted straight into the jam under a submerged branch gone... next 2  native silver bucks  that put up a good battle these 2 were bigger than the ones i was getting during the week... next fish hooked right under the head of this logjam tried to get her out in the main current but just to much pressure on line and snap... what a fun 2hrs this morning pretending i found a hole on a coastal stream..

Woody structure is always a good bet, especially under low and clear water conditions; factor in the sun and I bet every fish within a mile of that jam was heading for it.  Grin

Way to find the holding water, and way to toss those spinners. great

Sweet Fish!!! Jaime, You better stop making plans for all these long distant trips, Man in less time then it took you to drive out to the Coast you hooked all these fish.  Wink

Kinda fun any way just heading out of town in search of the mighty Steelhead.

That sure is a nice looking little piece of water you hit, I know up in my parts all the structure has been washed out and most of the river is filled in and Flat, and there is still a lot of Sand in most of the holes, I hate to say it but I believe this system needs a quick fix of High water to channel out some new slots, wash out the sand, and deposit some structure would be nice.

You know we are probably going to have to change your name to King of Hardware, or Spinnerman, or how about Flash, that has a nice sound to it, Grin  although I did see a bait caddy on your belt in one shot Shocked

Nice going finding those fish.  I also hit a local stream in search of fish.  I pooped the pants on the only take down.  I was enjoying the scenery and wasn't taking up the slack in the line.  Bobber down and I was reeling like a mad man.  Pulled up to set the hook and felt fish.  The battle was brief, three head shakes was enough to throw the hook.

Nice Fish!!! Grin  The photo of the holding water is good!
As I have just started fishing moving water again being back from overseas for 3 years, it gives me a better idea of what to look for.  I have learned much from this site and have to thank all the members for sharing the wealth and especially Brian for hosting this site!  I have learned enough to catch my 1st metal head this week with my son.  No pic's yet, sorry, but it was 33 inches long & about 19 inches in girth.  Didn't want to keep it out of the water too long!!!  Rosy cheeks were Beautiful Wink
Thank you Gentlemen!  Hope to learn much more from here!!!
