HELP , I need plasti dip , I could open a wader warehouse with all my old war torn waters, where do ya find plasti dip???. For waders I'm running Loop guide breathables, 450.00  Canadian dollars , they are excellent and holding in there at 6 months , but with winter steel and serious bushwacking about to begin, i'm gonn aneed plasti dip. Also have neoprene hip waders(sock foot) , excellent for those light duty days.

For 90% of my fishing I wear hip boots. Last pair I had for about five years. Just picked a new pair of Pro-line's @ Sportco for $48. They're a canvas/nylon style - not rubber. Hip boots breathe decently because of the open tops. They're easy to get on and off. You won't see me dancing around the parking lot gravel on one foot in my underwear juggling chest waders and my pants.

If you get three years out of any waders with heavy use that's something . I have for the last five years worn Dan Bailey breathables and am perfectly satisfied . The first pair were given to me five years ago and retired just this past summer for a set of D.B. Guide model whatever they're called (on sale). If they had any more in my size I would probably buy and hide an extra pair of them for next time around.

All brand pushing aside the best advice that I heed is buy with a good fit and key features (quality seams, textured 4 mm hypalon soles, minimal inside leg seams, good gravel gaurds, intact belt or cinch system, etc.) not ignoring the same in the warranty dept., and use the warranty at first sign of failure.

I went through three pairs of the D.B's the first year and never had an issue getting them replaced, (the first two pairs leaked immediately and the third lasted until they just got too wasted to pull on anymore.)

I know through experience of others that C's and H's have been the most problematic. However the H Guide's are sworn by some guys I fish with regularly.

Fit is most critical and each brand ignores the others sizing in that respect ! Also boot fit and choice is paramount, (not too tight/ not too loose and d- u- r- a- b- l- e ).

If money were no object I would wait until spring as Cloudveil is coming out with some sure to be bomber waders, boots and jackets as well as Simms adding another boot that is neoprene lined. New products aside the L.L Bean Wicked Tough waders would be my hands down "click to buy" at present and their warranty is the best in the business.

 That's my whatever it's worth.

Thanks for all the replies!  If I had $400 laying around I would go with Simms, but I don't.  I patched up mine last night so we should be good to go.  Jonnyhook and I will be getting out with Fish this afternoon for a bit.  I'll probably have Cabelas replace these as they have a 1 yr warranty on their stuff.  I wish they had their guide series in waist highs; I would try those.

Ironhead you can get Plasti dip at home hardware (Blackwoods)  in Abbotsford. They have
it in several colours(canadian spelling) so you can dress those waders up a bit too! In the
Paint section.

I've had bad expierience with Hodgemans which I usally found out about at the river. So I went to Simms G3 guides and they rock.I've had them for a year and put 1000hrs in them and noe leaks.I have bushwacked ,fallen, scraped, hooked and no leaks. One time this past fall I fell so hard I thought for sure this would be the one to tear them but nothing doing and when I got home and took them off I had a cut in my leg where I had fallen but yet no tear in the wader. They are absolutely bullet proof.my motto is "Go Simmms or go home...............early"

I've had a three pairs of Hodgeman breathables.  In my limited experience they all leak after a few long walks.  First of this season I bought a pair of discontinued Patagonia SST+ breathable waders and I still have dry socks after every trip, no repairs.  I got mine for $150, I see the price is now $199 vs. the original $335.  I haven't really given these guys the much of a road test, but definately there is some quality in them.
You guys should check out www.sierratradingpost.com for these waders and a bunch of other stuff.  I also bought a great Redington flyreel awhile ago for 1/3rd retail after they got bought out.  And too, I bought a cool shirt for $3.95, if it is still intact after a one wash I figure I did OK.
Believe me I ain't getting paid for this promotion and don't know these guys, they just have some good stuff cheap.  Good luck.
