finally made it to the lwr Q after 2 cancelled trips...  my buddy talkied me into going in very low h2o & near polar conditions.. after pulling my arm and willing to take of care of our sponsors fee and after cancelling on me 2wks ago i agreed.
Artic conditions best describe the how cold it was this morning 19 degrees at the boat launch! i knew i'd be chipping ice off my guides all mrning!!!  especially so when tossing metal in which i got all my fish on. I went 7 for 10 today not bad considering the conditions...5 steelhead 2 coho(released) 2 missed were very hot and heavier chrome and  broke at knots  Angry very low water (lowest i have fish it in 12 years out there!) my buddy went 3 for 7  2 on jigs and 1 on eggs he too also lost some nice fish on jigs & eggs...  All in all nice sunny day with some steady action.. time for bed..
typical lwr q brats

Nice fish, Jaime. Looks and sounds like a productive day on the water. And I think just about anybody who fished today feels your pain with the ice in the guides. It got to 33 degrees from about 2-3, but otherwise it was pretty tough going.  Tongue

I don't know much about these Indian hatchery fish, but I sure couldn't tell the difference between that first brat and a native. How do you make that distinction? (I know about the dorsal thing, but that dorsal is about as pointed as they come.)  Huh

Thanks!

Nice outing Jaime, I know what you mean about the cold weather. I can't wait to be complaining about the rain and 40 degree temps again.

Nice job Jaime.  Sounds like a fun and busy day on the water, 7 for 10.   Grin

Nice fish. They are deffinatley brats. You can tell by the dorsal and other fins that looked somewhat chewed. They are also much smaller than a quinalt native, probably cook creek fish. Looks like a fun trip.
