Snow on the Hoh

Here is a thread from PP with a pic of a boat down in the Bogey. I don't float this river very often, but from what I remember there isn't any water that I would consider difficult to navigate. Anyone know which section of river this is on? I guess it just goes to show that this can happen anytime anywhere on the rivers if your not on your toes.

That is sad to see.  That is why I choose not to alter my mental state while I am on the river.  Plenty of time for that is the safe conforts of my garage.  I hope that they were all ok.  I seem to choose to take the safe way and not challenge the river too much, until I know the stretch really well, and then I won't go too far.  I like to remember, When I doubt, Whip it out, (A rope that is), and line the boat.

I believe the spot in question is just above the Icebox. I can see where in low flows that spot could get you!

FJ is the icebox above or below the Wilson Rd launch?

I pretty sure it's above. I know just enough about the Bogey to be dangerous. Grin

It's above Wilsons. The way I read the thread it was below Icebox, which is that monster right hand corner hole, that tails out to a chute with a slight left kink in the middle where the rocks are.

But, like FJ, I know just enough to be dangerous.

Low water brings out many hazards that normally you'd miss.
