What type of Tutorials or Tips would you like to see here?  With the vast array of characters here, I don't think there is any subject or tip that can't be tutorialized.  Please post a reply and let us know what you would like to see here.

A few more river water reading tutorials would be great!!  I always see these huge boulders in the middle of the river, with a calm bit of water obviously behind them.  Now if I were a fish who either needed a rest, or was waiting for some food, I'd be hiding behind that boulder.  But... haven't seemed to have much luck, maybe it's my approach.

Edit:  Oops, replied to wrong post, but I guess effective nonetheless...lol  But I do gotta tell you, this site and all of yall's hard work and unselfishness is simply AMAZING!!  Thanks!

Chief
for reading water i would spend more time casting to the sides and front of bolders. Think of it like this if the boulder is out of the water cast to the fronts and sides. In front of the rock there is a hydrolic pad where the fish lay without the current pushing on them. If the boulder is under water cast to the sides front and back because this pad is all around the rock. Look for flat spots in the river. They are the paths with least resistance. Spots where the current is strong fish the insides where the strong and soft current meet. I would love to see more about float and jig fishing.
Good luck
