I've been trying to improve my fishing photography. This has brought a more effective use of my Olympus digital camera along with the purchase of a new model that is weather resistant. In the process of my learning I stumbled onto something that some of you might find useful if you use disposable cameras.
It's called "Picture Yourself." It's a reusable mechanical timer and mini tripod that will strap onto a disposable camera allowing you to position your camera, set the timer, and run around and get in front of it for the picture. Now those who use disposable cameras can do what owners of more expensive cameras can do - take pictures of themselves holding their own fish. Cool.
I have not used this because I no longer need to, but I'm sure some who will read this will find it to be just what they need for solo photography.
Here is a picture of the item:

The little mini-tipod is part of the product.
Again, I have not used this, so this is not an endorsement. Other than discovering the website, I have no other connection with this company. I just know that its something that looks very useful and the price is right. $9.95 plus S&H. With this item, a throw-away camera, and digital developing available at most of the major mega-department stores, you too can put photos up on Steelhead Notebook.
Here is the website for a full description and ordering info.
