Here is another example of some good holding water. This is a little slot at the top end of a heavy riffle. Some of the water tumbles over the bar to form a slow moving slot that parallels the main river for a short distance before rejoining the main river. This is typically a flatter portion of river which provides an ideal resting spot for the ascending fish. This particular spot has resulted in many hookups this fall coho season! Grin
