« Topic Start: September 17, 2007, 02:05:16 PM »

Hooked up today with my friends Marvin and Jeff , and had an absolute blast !!! , the bait of the day was Salmon Skien , hands down it out produced everything else we used , Single Eggs worked real good also , The custom floats worked out great also ,Nothing better that airborne Steelhead ,  Gotta love that Centerpin !!!
Between the 3 of us we hooked over 50 fish today, can't wait till we get an actually full blown run, then there will be fish everywhere  , Thank you Pa for stocking all those fish...LOL !!! , here is a few pictures.

50 steelhead wow!! Shocked Not easy to do over here.  Hopefully the fish that are being held from under the gillplate were retained, not the best idea for catch and release.

There are a few kinds of steelhead fishing; fly, float, drift, spoon, spinner, plugs, boondoggin, bobberdoggin,.... and then there is float fishing in 18\" of water.  Put that in your pipe and smoke it! Afro

They are all hatchery fish Daredevil and over in PA, not WA.

I know of very *few* people that have landed 50 hatchery steelhead in a day.  Not possible on wild fish in this state.

Parker, I'm well aware that it wasn't in WA, 50 fish returning to a hatchery is a miracle on some of our rivers. Grin

there's one particular non-OP river here that is possible to hook that many...my dad hooked into 60 one day about 10 years ago!

they are hatchery fish though, but who's complaining...

I know you don't see much or any at all natural reproduction down in PA, but how many fish do they plant in those rivers you fish?  I have never fished those waters but have friends that say that there are so many fish that they were trying everything in their vests and seeing what would not catch a fish. laugh

Here?  If here definitly not true, a good day is 3 to 4 hook ups.  I dont think that theres a place where it gets to the point to see what you cant catch them on, in this case that would be called catching.
