Nice job guys, awesome pics, and love to read your guys reports. That's one thing I like about this site, there seems to be a few good writers, I enjoy reading the fish stories. Thanks and keep it up.

Yeah Dardevle. I "apologized" a lot like that when I first set my fly rod aside and started fishing with floats, too. Then I looked around at all the guys fishing with indicators and micro jigs or bead head flies and changed my tune - especially when they were catching fish and I wasn't. The change to floats and jigs was a natural. My "flies only" allegience seems only like a distant memory now. I think Bugs called that "the dark side."

I saw Osprey jigs for the first time in our local fly shop today.   I started a conversation with one of the guys about the similarities between float fishing and fly fishing.  He wasn't entertained by my thoughts.  It seems now you are a true fly guy as long as it's harder than crap to get your "stuff" where it needs to be.  Whether it be swinging or nymphing   I never do anything but fly fish when it comes to trout and I have a lot of respect for good fly guys.  I've also seen novice nymph style steelheaders that could learn a lot more about steelheading if they would occasionally bring a spinning reel, float and jig to the stream.

I was in one of our flyshop hangouts nearby and they were selling West Coast Floats in the smaller sizes. Looking at the beadhead and barbell flies in the bin nearly prompted a word or two from me. Then I thought better of it from my years of protocol training and kept my mouth shut. A guy could start a fight.
