You remember that thread Bmac started about projects you can undertake when the river's are blown. Well the same applies when it is sunny and 60 for 21 straight days in February. The only change I would make is substitute tying rags with glo-bugs.

~Mike~ There are a few kinds of steelhead fishing; fly, float, drift, spoon, spinner, plugs, boondoggin, bobberdoggin,.... and then there is float fishing in 18\" of water. Put that in your pipe and smoke it!

OK, here's my next "project." I talked to one of my buddies tonight, and he was over on the Yak yesterday, wading upstream from Rinehart Park in Eburg. The Skwalas are moving, and the baetis were hatching all afternoon. I normally don't fish it until late March, but in light of the weather, a little dry fly fishing in February would be working. At least until it rains, then it's time to say Hoh, Hoh, Hoh!

We've had the same kind of weather down here since mid January. Last I checked there were 39 winter steelhead in the trap at the dam. Very slow. I've been passing the time by learning how to build my own floats. I put up a tutorial a few days ago on some foam floats. Since then I've made a few more different kinds. Kinda fun. I just run across the street and toss 'em in to see how they float. I'm working on a streamlined wrap-around dink float now - one that doesn't push so much water when you reel it in and doesn't get cut up with braided line. Also on a summer float that is little more stable than the standard round cork I usually fish with.
I've also been surfing around on some centerpin float sites to see what I might learn from the Great Lakes crowd and their float fishing. Some interesting techniques out there. Some of them can be adapted to the Pacific NW.

It's going to rain now, I just washed the truck and my wife's car. I just had my grandson do the same with our cars. Maybe between the two of us we can pull some of that rain up that has been hitting L.A. zonker

I don't care what you two have to do, but make it rain! Please!!!
I'm actually already planning on NOT fishing this weekend because of this dry weather. I should put a fresh coat of Coat-It on the BaitThug as last weekend I think the Hoh took a bunch off.

Daredevle, the washing the car thing won't get the mojo risin. I tried that last weekend by washing the protective crust off of the Chumdogmobile, and Mrs CD's rig too. I haven't seen any rain yet. Look at the bright side, we get to practice summer run fishing early.

Been watching the news and praying for rain. My mom says she is going to have her church group pray for rain for us. Maybe some divine intervetion will work.
