Nice job on them steelhead, Looks like you have changed the way you rig your Jensen's. Seems to me that I found one of you rigs on one of our favorite OP streams a couple years ago. That one had two Jensen eggs tied together with small diameter mono and held in the bait loop with the yarn. Was that your rig? If so, which way of rigging is your preference? I have had good luck with a single Jensen Egg on a #4 octopus hook. I tie the egg loop with a bunch of extra wraps so the loop starts near the bend of the hook, that way when I slide the egg up on the hook I can still add a small piece of yarn in the loop.

Brian,

These days I stick with the rig described above (not sure if the rig you found was mine or not...does sound like one of my experiments though).  However, I often use a set up exactly as you've shown above as a dropper off a jig.  Late last summer I used a single egg under a black or purple jig and landed 8 in a row all on the dropper...there is something special about those little eggs.
