Snow on the Hoh

WWW
« Topic Start: April 01, 2008, 09:52:18 AM »

I was searching through the forum recently and found some old topics that I found quite entertaining. I'd be interested in hearing from some of you what your favorite posts from the last few years are. I will have a hard time finding only one, but this one rates right up there with them all. A classic example of the trophy hunter mentality that adversely impacts our sport. This guy was a real piece of work, but it brought out some great discussion around the importance of wild steelhead release.

30 pound steelhead - part 3

If you have your own favorites, post a link to them here.

I just finished re-reading all three of those threads and was very impressed with the well thought out responses that support the concept of wild steelhead release. Andrew made a suggestion that I take the content from some of those posts and compile them into a supporting document for C & R. I think I may do that and post it on the site in a prominent place. Good Stuff!

i went over it and its a good article, one article i wanted to get a little more attention was the killing of native steelies, i think they should all be released, they are up here but you would get better strains down there if they closed the retention of native fish

The 30 lb. Native topic(s) and the recent poll on retaining wild steelhead are favorites of mine right now.

I don't think so, they were removed for the original discussions, maybe on google, but that's a long shot.

Although I wasn't a member of this board at the time of that 3-pager, I do remember finding that thread awhile back and it consuming an evening of mine. Smiley Good stuff!

There are a few kinds of steelhead fishing; fly, float, drift, spoon, spinner, plugs, boondoggin, bobberdoggin,.... and then there is float fishing in 18\" of water.  Put that in your pipe and smoke it! Afro
