By the way, good information on the tutorials.  My question on the foam floats is, are there any way to straighten out the foam?  Thanks.

Hi Norm,

Welcome to the forum.

Are you talking about straightening store bought dinks or straightening out the backer material when you're making them? If the latter, and you're making a straight through model (tube down the middle) just use a stiff tube. If making the wrap around kind, try stretching the material. That will do some of it. The material takes on a curve not from the way it's made but the way it's stored. I've also considered embedding a toothpick (after the in-the-top and out-the-side tubes are installed.) Havent' tried it though.

Post a little more specific info and maybe I can add something to this.

Zonker, you are correct, I am talking about backer rods.  I will try try the toothpick method.  I may also heat some in hot water.  I will post if I am successful.  Thanks for your reply.
