Only real scarry part of this weekend was the bullets flying in my direction on the river.  We were under attack!  Some brilliant individual either thought it was funny to take some pot shots (sounded like at .22 caliber) at us, or they were shooting without a back stop.  Either way, I saw bullets hitting the water yards from where I was at, and at least one went over my head.  I immediatly pulled the boat over into a back eddy that had a bit of protection, and yelled, "Hold yer' fire!!!".  I am not sure if they heard me yelling, or just ran out of ammo, but I am alive to post this.

sounds like residents of satko glen.  "this river don't go aintry" Shocked

Floated a stream down here with the Brother in law.  Didn't touch/see/hear of a single fish all day.  Pretty slow.  Could not beat the weather though.  Gorgeous day to be on the water.  River was in perfect shape also.  Just not fish to tango with.  Oh well.

Fished the Salmon and a bit of the Queets downstream from the confluence with 1 of my buddies and 2 of his from work.  One hookup on the Queets and quickly lost.

Went up the 21 road and fished the hole by the old logging camp and ran into a guy taking a nap in the sun on a big boulder down there,.....looked like a nice spot  Smiley He noted that his buddy touched and landed a darker hatchery fish off the 1000 road.

Beautiful day but didn't seem there were many fish in the river.

Hey Cutts did I see you out there?

Probably not.  We worked from the lower bridge up and called it a day after stopping at the upper bridge and seeing that there just weren't many around.  Unfortunately being so busy this winter I missed the bulk of the run.  NO worries though as I've had my fair share of wonderful days down there in years past.  Gorgeous day though.....

Are you sure that wasn't a .40 on the upper Nooch . . .?

Unfortunately I missed the run myself.  In fact my timing to the Salmon has been horrible my last two trips.  Didn't get out there last year.  Last time there was Dec. 07' on a day similar to yesterday although the river was gin clear and didn't have the color it did yesterday.  The river from the lower bridge out to the confluence sure has changed significantly since then (to me anyway)

Geez I hope not...  After missing the stump (mind you it was 25 feet in front of me) I got to wondering where those buggers were headed.  Afro

Very sure... I know a .40 when I hear it.  They would have to be magic bullets to jump the ridge, then turn into snappy little .22's, then hit the water thirty yards in front of me.  The one wizzing over my head could have been one that cuttstosteelies intended to kill a stump with.  Funniest part about that, the guy I was with is named Stumpf.
