C&R Natives
|
well i know asked you gus alot of information for bank fishing steelhead and it was all great info to and i really appreciate it guys!! but last friday a buddy of mine asked me if i wanted to float the river in there drift boat. of coarse i jumped on it real quick. it was my first time on the drift boat and it was awesome. my buddy and his dad were well expericned seteelheaders so i knew i was in good hands. we started off the day at 7 and we headed down the river. around 9 i was boondoggin some eggs along a bank when i thought a got snagged. but it wasn't no snagg!!! it was a chrome bright native steelie. the fight lasted about seven minutes. my knees were shaking because i was so excited. i got the fish in took some real careful pictures and let it go on its way. about ten minutes later 1/8 mile down river i was doing the same thing and then WHAM another one. and it was a nice chrome steelie. my buddy looked at me disbelief. haha it was a awesome weekend. when we got down the pull out, being 7 boats and many bank fisherman i was the only one to catch anything . here my pictures the native being on top of coarse.

dang son! You caught more fish in 20min than I caught in two whole days on the most crowded river in the state. Not to mention the fish we got was almost HALF the size of that nate!

that's just an awesome shot, man. The smile says it all. Nice to see someone not looking at their fish in the pic and instead showing what "all" of us are truly feeling at that moment------pure joy! Congrats!

If all I ever saw in a post was pictures of nates being held and released properly, and a good old fashioned wood shampoo being put to a brat, I'd be happy. I'm happy. Very nice work, sir...that river can be lights out or empty.
