...TO HELP MAKE SURE THE NOTEBOOK LIVES ON!  great

I have some "vb" hats that need to be worn to Brian's memorial on March 8, 2009.  I like the idea of Steelhead Notebook members sporting these hats at the celebration (of course respecting the religious part) just like Brian sported his all over town.

I have very few olive hats, a few khaki hats, and plenty of red and orange hats (as you know from pictures these last two were B Mac's favs  Grin)

Here's how I want it to work:  shoot me a PM telling me what hat(s) you desire and I will put them aside with your screen name tagged to them...I will respond to your PM with the mailing address to send the cash, check or money order at $10 per hat with proceeds going to support of the Notebook.  One of the moderators will have the hats at Brian's memorial at the Elks and will distribute them as you come on in.  It should be funny to see dozens of fresh "vb" hats running around...especially for his family.

For those who don't know, this was a hat project I did a few years ago when I couldn't find any good flyfishing hats in MT or ID.  They are sturdy, good-looking hats.  Although they were initally directed at flyfishing, I think the "life is short" premise applies equally to all fishing especially in times where we are reminded how true it is.

Hey Ike. I sent you a pm. I would like the olive one if I was in time. I think this is a great idea. I'm looking forward to the celebration and putting some faces to all of the great posters on this site. We really need to keep this site going in Brians memory.

5 khaki left...plenty B Mac red and B Mac orange.

By the way, if any of you didn't get a PM back from me with instructions on where to send payment, then I probably didn't get your order.  In that event, send me a new PM.

Thanks to those of you who have sent your money in so expeditiously.   great  I'd like to ask all those who ordered hats to do so as soon as possible because I'm supposed to leave on a trip next week and would like to have this all taken care of before I go.

I've been known to dump plenty of projects in my secretary's lap, but with the crazy names involved in this one I think she might freak out.  Grin

So here's the deal:  I received payments from most of you, but a few stragglers are still out there.  If you haven't sent money for your vb hat(s) yet, please refer back to the PM I sent you with instructions.

The hats will be available for pickup prior to the celebration of B Mac's life at the Elks Lodge in Tacoma on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at 1:00 P.M.  I may have to miss the memorial, but one of the moderators will be there to make sure you get what you asked for.  I have labeled all the hats with the screen name/first name of all who contacted me.

Where them proudly!  great

Gotcha Randy...my motivation for ordering more hats in blue, olive, khaki and the B Mac colors just went way up.  great

So here's the new deal: if you guys think that my "vita brevis" idea as applied to steelheading should go on, then I will have to buck up and order more of those hats.

Let me know with replies to this thread, and I will get even more motivated!  Grin
