I seriously doubt Brian would appreciate "nates on the rocks" dedicated to him.

Easy now Larry, I think he did a pretty good job of landing that fish.  I have seen much much worse.

Awesome clarification.   Heck, if you saw me beach a hatch fish it'd be NC-17.

Not bad fish handling, but there are a few things that could be criticized.
Try to tail the fish instead of letting it thrash around on water that is shallow/rocky, bring it into the shallows like you did and then wade out into the deeper water, keeping the fish in the water.
If you cannot tail it buy a catch and release net, Frabills are good and i have seen then on sale for 19.95$.
Not bad for your 5-6th fish, i don't keep track btw.... I just remember your first steelhead not to long ago.
Steelhead are tough creatures and no matter how CAREFUL you are with them some will die from hooking mortality, but keeping the fish as first priority will lower the mortality rate.

I was just clarifying on LL's post. I enjoyed the video, truly was a father and son outing that you guys enjoyed.
Don't take anything i say personal, just alot of us on this website not only like to catch steelhead, but we are fighting for them to. CCA/WSC/Friends of the Cowlitz/etc and testifying in Olympia on bills/writing to are senators/legislators. So when we see guys mishandling steelhead or killing wild steelhead it hits a nerve. Not that you and your son mishandled the steelhead, i was just trying to offer a few suggestions. TBH i think your son has excellent steelhead handling skills for just catching his first steelhead not to long ago, i know guys who still drop nates or mishandle them and they have been steelhead fishing for 30 years.
Good job  Wink
