As many of you know, my father tragically passed away in a vehicle accident in Feb of 07.  Tough stuff....  My mom remarried back in Nov. of this past year and I must say, while Bob will never take the place of my father, he is one heck of a dude and it was a real honor to share the water with him this morning.  An avid outdoorsmen, Bob has yet to catch a steelhead and has been buggin' me for the past few months to get that "monkey off his back".  After a tough day on the Nooch last Feb. with no dice, today was the day.....  On the water early and out early.  Bob fought the fish like a champ.  What a feeling getting someone their first steelhead when they've been trying for years with no success. Not only did Bob hook one, he landed a second hot summer that I was sure was a gonner after 5 cartwheeling leaps and shakes and a massive run down the riffles below....  Today was our day!  Here's to you, Bob.....  Thanks for the great morning!

Very nice story!  It's a lot of pressure putting a newbie into fish but when you do it is the best feeling in steelheading!

There are a few kinds of steelhead fishing; fly, float, drift, spoon, spinner, plugs, boondoggin, bobberdoggin,.... and then there is float fishing in 18\" of water.  Put that in your pipe and smoke it! Afro

Nice fish!  Is it just me or does the reflection of the water make it look like the tails are missing.  Wink

justin -- you ought to get one of these:

20 bucks as sportco, and you can stick it under the seat in your truck.  it'll hold 2 limits of 10lb steelhead no problem.
