Happy Father Day to all the Dad's out there. May we all have a peacefull day filled with "peace and quiet"
And for the fourtunate ones that go fishing, good luck and Enjoy your day!

One of my most memorable Fathers day was one that I picked up my dad with boat in tow, and spent the day just the two of us out on Clear Lake near Eatonville. We had hoagie sandwiches, chips, beverages and fished for most of the day.The weather was not the best, the catching was not the best, but the time spent together was "the best".The funny part is we did not even have to talk a whole bunch,we just understood each other and enjoyed the outdoors.   Priceless................

Seems like I get so busy with all the demands and needs of work, family, home etc. that I forget how a day to just relax with Dad can mean so much to both.

Enjoy your day DAD'S.............

Anyone have some special Fathers Day memories to share?

Best memories of my Dad go back 40 years when I was a teen. My Dad had never fished before and I started by myself at age 8 and finally got him interested when I was around 13, also got one of my brothers interested at the same time. The best times were back in Ontario fishing the Rideau river. The three of us would go out just before dark for some top water bass action and we would have a blast. Always got some bass and the odd time we would be into pike and walleye as well. I remember one night telling him there was no way he would catch the first fish, sure enough my first cast with a Crazy Crawler and Fish On! He said I must have horse shoes up my a$$, every time after that it was a bet as to which one of us three would get the first fish. Sure miss those days with him, now he is in 80's and can't fish due to health reasons but we still remember them. Now I'm fishing with my son who is 22 and I've had him and his sisters fishing since they were 3/4 years old. Building some good memories with him now, especially sturgeon fishing in the Fraser, The look on his face when his first sturgeon was a 6 footer was priceless. Happy Fathers Day to all you dads out out there.

I don't remember fishing exactly on Father's Day, but at my age all the days run together!!!  I sure appreciate my dad taking me out fishing quite a bit as a youngster.  We also hunted a lot together.  We still get out together, some.  I believe today he is floating/fishing the John Day for smallmouth with my younger brother.  I'll get him in the fall when the silvers are in!

Happy Father's Day to y'all!

Though I have many more memories to share with my pa, the best ones Ive had so far have all usually been in the woods hunting with him. Quite a few events have happend that normally are once in a lifetime.
This last year we were hunting together in Idaho and I was the hunter and he was the caller you could say(he'd shot a buck a day or two before).  We were sitting up on top of a heavily timbered ridge, the kind where I could only see maybe 30yds maybe.  Hes calling and I catch movement at the bottom of a thick gut.  A 3pt buck then showed himself at quite a distance for where we were sitting.  He kept calling and the buck just kept on a comin.  He was a little small for me to shoot so we thought we would have some fun with him.  To make a long story short minutes felt like hours and the buck ended up coming in so close, not only could we hear him breathing through his nose but I could have poked him with my gun barrrel.  It makes it crazy because usually your scent can be detected up to 100s of yds away and their eye sight is amazing.  Definitly something that I'll remember my whole life.
