I'm looking at the PA gig as a 2 year sabbatical...very well could be longer though if the Seattle biotech scene doesn't recover soon.  I'll return at some point, it is only a matter of when.  I've been fishing like a mad man the past month.  I'll even have to carry on my fly rod for my flight to PA b/c I'll be fishing the whole time the movers are packing up the house.  I wonder if the airline with hassle me about carrying on stinky wet waders and boots!
