well its been fun hooking pinks with a fly rod but there pretty much all zombies and I'm really really tired of hooking them so i have been trying to go after src's and rainbows and maybe with some luck a metal head or two, but what got me thinkin since there is a lot of dead fish in the water maybe a flesh fly might be the ticket, does anyone els have any luck with them ?

They rule for Dollies...they are an excellent choice for steelhead a few months from now...but for salmon I'd stick with the egg patterns.  great

Speaking of flesh flies. Do you have a go to cord to make them articulated, and do you prefer to cut the lead hook off, or leave it...besides any regulation violations? It would be really cool to see a video tutorial on this.

How late into the year have you guys found these flies to work?
Just moved to the island and really thinking about starting to use them for Cutties and Rainbows maybe Bulls.
Someone also said they work for Steelhead as well? How big should a Steelhead Flesh fly be?

For salmon I would stick with flash flies or rolled muddlers.
Big marabou flies in pink and green work really well for pink and chum (good for pinks on beaches).

Sorry I'm new to the whole fly concept. Hopefully some of the fly guys here can give you some feedback. I'm mucking around right now on how to make them.
