How are you guys tying your droppers on? On the bend of the shank?
Any jig can be used as a dropper jig. Tye the dropper leader right behind the jig head to the hook shank with an improved clinch knot.
I would worry about a fish finding some woody debry ounce hooked .
Its bad enough just having line rub against some wood but with that exposed point it would sure be a concern.
like others have said, i think they are a pain in the ass. Once they tangle once, they tangle every cast after. I think you are better of working the one jig with the best presentation, depth, drag free drift as possible.

The two main reasons I prefer not to use a dropper rigs. Single jig for me.
