« Topic Start: December 29, 2009, 12:17:18 AM »

This is also my first season of steelhead fishing.  I'm a disabled fisherman and although I haven't pulled one out myself yet, harvesters have helped me get 3 beauties.  I'm still hoping to get one solo, though I've landed a lot of cutthroat and they are good eating in and of themselves.

Just wanted to say also how much I appreciate all the help I've gotten from other steelheaders along the river.  Besides harvesters fishing for me, almost everyone who passes stops to share a fishing tip or a favorite jig, help unsnag a line, grab the net to try to help me land one, etc.  Steelheaders are really a great bunch of people.  I love reading about great catches on here and seeing the pictures.  Glad I found this forum!!

I've found lots of Brian's information very helpful. Never got to meet him but enjoyed his posts and his writing. One dedicated fisherman who understood what it's all about.

There are a few kinds of steelhead fishing; fly, float, drift, spoon, spinner, plugs, boondoggin, bobberdoggin,.... and then there is float fishing in 18\" of water.  Put that in your pipe and smoke it! Afro

Yep Jig-N-Bob, Andrew got me my first one and it was indeed a beauty; it's the one in my profile picture.

I'm learning a lot from the tips board in particular & just having fun looking around the site.  Thanks for the welcome, everybody.
