I did a real quick drive by last weekend on the Wishkah. Totally my kind of river, small. Off the beaten path. I'll understand if I don't get much feedback on this one, but here it goes.
Does anyone have some good tips on access, timing, pontoon boating, fish numbers, really anything. I am not being lazy. I am willing to do the footwork, but my fishing days aren't as often as I would like, so some savings of time researching/scouting would be very helpfull!
Thanks, Brian

I would go knock on some doors in the Wishkah Valley and ask for permission to access the river through some of the folks land. I'm certain they will be very helpful and accommodating! If you get lucky you might be able to call them about river conditions.

~Mike~ There are a few kinds of steelhead fishing; fly, float, drift, spoon, spinner, plugs, boondoggin, bobberdoggin,.... and then there is float fishing in 18\" of water. Put that in your pipe and smoke it!

I'll tell you how, but I won't tell you where Not much in the Kah other than hatchery coho anyhow. If steelhead are what you're after I suggest hitting the Nooch or the Satsop. «Edited: February 13, 2010, 01:07:55 PM by Grizz »

Thanks for the info guys. The problem with the Satsop and Nooch are the crowds. I'd rather have a chance of hooking only a few Catch & Release NATES than stand on the banks of either of those two rivers counting the boats going by.(thirteen, fourteen, fifteen. . . sixteen)

FOR SALE!: GPS coordinates, best access points and top rigging methods for any river on the OP, $250 each... Or $1000 guided with pot, beer, tofu and candy provided. (Double the cost for spey anglers.) Guaranteed to hook "your" fish of a lifetime. Must be at least 13 years of age with signed consent form, and supply own rod, reel and hip boots. (Preferably an upside down 8'6" baitcasting rod with a 6000 series spinning reel on top...)

No Craigslist quote, but that's what I'll tell any parents reading this that are contemplating sending their 13 year old out with me...
