Had the great pleasure of rowing Tom (Big Buck) and my dad on the OP for a final go for the winter season of 2010.  We had a great week long trip with many fish to hand, all fish made for a special place in memory for all of us.  Weather was anything you could have, rain, snow, sleet, sun, blue bird sky, hail.....and then theres the infamous heavy OP rain.  However most days the river stayed in good shape, the cold snap saved our behinds, with fresh snow pack on the hills it made for good conditions. We only had to hold back one day because of swollen waters but by mid day the river was turning for the better.  Despite a couple days of bad weather, the fish didnt seem to mind.  Fish gladly took hardware, worms, and especially plugs....agressive nates love plugs.  Wink  Total tally was 15 fish landed for 20 hook ups, not a bad deal in my book.  Highlights of the trip:a plug rod completley burying while in Tom's hand, pulling a rabbit out of the hat (Tom has details), me catching two fish in two casts, me having the chance to pull out 3 bucks out of one tailout on hardware, one of which was very high teens, Tom giving a piece of his mind to a big time TV host fly fisherman for very poor boat edicate, possibly me jumping off a megshift ropeswing only to fall in a crick up to my neck.  Gotta love the OP.

Good friends, good food, good  drink and some petty good fishing another great trip with more memories for a life time. got my first worm fish a real hard take,a plug fish with rod in hand that dang near ripped my shoulder out of its socket, Jake got 3 nice bucks out of one drift, one of with was pushing 20 , one of two that got away at hand before any pictures. NO knotless net, a 25 yard ditch that Jake noticed on the first day that we ended pulling a plug fish out of the next two days, THE RABBIT OUT OF THE HAT....   the kid;; Jake is coming along real good on the sticks, GOD only knows its not easy rowing a drift boat with 2 BIG men in the front, his father at 250 and me at a cool 320, his pecks got a good work out. Elly Sue likes.................NUM is NUM..... Grin

and me at a cool 320,

Hence the name "Big Buck" ?  Now it is starting to make sense.
Well done boys, nice trip. I have never been holding a plug rod and had it almost torn out of my grasp but that must be something else!
