Well after all the rain we got here in Oregon most of my rivers were a mess. Thought that sunday maybe the only chance to fish. So went out and the river looked ok but kinda high. Well got really lucky only had to fish one hole today. Went 3 for 3 first one was a nice native. Jigs with prawns were the ticket.

Good work. Glad to see you got out and into some fish regardless of the rain. Was the native a summer run or a very late winter fish?

Ya RB she was a cookin!!! Almost nothing but white water 1/2 mile below where I was fishing. That native was a summer run Supertrout. There is a good summer native run on the Siletz. Have been told that it is the only true native run on Oregon's north coast.

I think the Siletz and North Umpqua are really the only two rivers on the Oregon coast that has a true native summer run but there maybe more but not many. From what I have heard the main reason they think the siletz has a native summer run is because the fish cant make it over the falls with the winter flows. So over time a summer run developed.
