 after a really long break from river fishing , it feels good to get back at it. i took gavin down to one of my favorite rivers wednesday after school. we planned on grouse hunting but we threw in a few rods for the hell of it. the river looked great so we though we would take a few casts. i saw 5 steelhead laying in the first hole i came up on.  the first 4 casts had 4 chasers that wouldn't commit. all i had were spinners { somebody forgot there floats, what a dumb ass! } so after successfully spooking all the fish we went to the next hole and  fishpimp jr whacked a nice little  steelie. it was a really hot fish.  it was great to see him  in action again. he doesn;t get out much anymore with his insane soccer schedule. { he is a goal keeper and plays  2 years up on a u-14 premier team, it is really time consuming}
 so i went back down the next morning and i was throwning a 1/8oz pimp shrimp in pink/white. i popped a fish right away, it also went nutzzz. dang it felt good, as i was fighting it there were 2 other fish ping-ponging around the hole.  i let it rest for a half hour or so and threw back in there. the fish freaked at the sight of me and exploded down stream and left the hole.  did i mention the river is frickin teeny, i have taken a piss bigger then it. so i went down a few holes and i saw a steelhead in about 2 feet of water rise up and slurp a fly off the surface. only the second time i have ever seen that before. really really cool.  i tossed spinners at him and he didn't care, i threw on the pimp shrimp and first pass he killed it. he was rather spastic, i loved it.
 so i went back with my dad the next day, he got there before i did and fished threw where i knew some fish were, nothing. so i came behind him with the pimp shrimp again and pulled one small hen about 4 -5 lbs on my 3rd cast.  i spotted a few more but they saw me and wouldn't cooperate. so i had a great week. gonna get after them some more next week  o-boy i can't waite.
all i have are cell phone pictures ill throw them up in a little bit.

Great report Kramer.

Good BS'ing with you at the Emporium a month or so back.

We'll have to hit a few spots together this winter.

I still got love for you too Bob  Grin

Winters are right around the corner and I've got my drift all dialed in. You'll have to make it down.

Nice work there Steve and son!
I once hooked the same fish 3 times at the spot your son is standing - dang thing was so hot broke me off twice and the third time spit the hook cartwheeling 4 feet up in the air  Grin  There are worse things then getting your arse handed to you by a hot summer run  Grin

Glad to see you're back at it!
