Has anyone else recognized the common need by fishermen in various boards to talk up the Snohomish Watershed? I know its not the biggest secret out there but talking up the OP is blasphemy, but the Snohomish System is literally off limits now. I have been known to push a report or two but it has got too the point that I won't even fish much of the system and it is the closest system to my house. Jackholes at the mouth of the wallace, 10 to 20 driftboats from sultan to lewis, dirtbags all over the Sky at every decent access point. And word of mouth pumping it all up.
Its the internet i know, its the Snoho System I know, and I even know the wallace is not a secret, yet that river is tiny.... access is limited and will now be flooded with dirtbags and ethical anglers alike. Forecast for next weekend slighty rainy with a chance of dirtbags, and elbow space estimated to be less than 2 inches.

BTW Curado don't take it as a bash. I just am asking why people pump the Snoho System up. And on top of that don't really understand why anyone would pump up a river barely wide enough to fit most peoples rigs. Access points about 2, and each spot can be fished in under 10 minutes thoroughly. This river can't handle pressure, too small.

I was having a hard time figuring where on the river that is. I have never seen that spot, only thing I can think is that is right in the closed waters under the hatchery. After someone on another board called it, I am almost 100% sure they are right. And after looking in the regs that looks like a man made dam which fishing within 400 ft. of is illegal. Am i wrong? If so, someone please tell me so I can fish in closed waters.

Ahhh the Interwebz. My first take would be to say it's part of the new reality we all deal with. Although, as many have said here before,..... if you're dumb enough to go chasing interwebz reports all over the place, have at it. I'll add BJ you should probably cut the kid a break. A quick check of the regs on the river in question states nothing about 400ft from anything. For upriver regs it states; "from xxx avenue to 200ft upstream of water intake of salmon hatchery",......... fish away. Curado, Next time posting pics of your catch on the interwebz use a little discretion where your location is concerned less you piss off the fishing gods. Other than that nice catch

Other than that nice catch Not trying to hurt the kids feelings, and am sorry if it came off that way. I am not that guy, I got bashed for years and understand. I just figured I would let the kid know not too blow these rivers up, blow the sky up all the mainstem stuff i could care less the damage is already done on those. It just added insult to injury when I figured where he was fishing, too top it off I just called WDFW on someone fishing closed waters on that river 3 days ago. Sorry for the flame on where he was... a mistake is a mistake and to tell the truth I cannot tell if its upstream or downstream of the hatchery..... I am pretty much 100% sure it is closed waters unless I am missing something. Just a touchy subject for me.

I agree with Grizz, give the Kid a break and lets move on. Or I will move it on! Curado,We do not need to know where. That's what Pm's are for.I would not recommend posting where all over the internet as you will soon be joined by 50 of your closest buddies. Big Jim, Of all people I would have expected you know how it feels to have other come down hard on you and would give the kid a break. We where all young once and pretty sure we all had errors in judgement a time or two. The key is to learn from your mistakes. Nuff said,Carry on...........

I am sorry for the semibash, I was just calling him out. I should have went the high road and sent a pm, so my apologies curado. Not trying to make you feel bad or anything of that sort. Just trying to let you know that should be closed waters, and that river really doesn't need more publicity.
I publicize rivers more than anyone, pictures and video are very telling. Yet my philosophy on it is if the internet dbags know what river it is by pictures or video they already know the river. All I can ask is please keep the names away on small rivers, and make sure you are fishing open waters.

its all good BigJim no harm. and where i was it was open. because last year the same area had a no fishing sign til late september to protect the kings comming up... P.S the snoho system is not pumped up. you wanna know a river that is pumped up go to the cow, nis, puke, skok. i would totally agree the snohomish is over fished but still its the river closest to me and i aint gonna drag a 24 ft sled to fish a over fished river with a 6 hour drive attached unless i am being a deck hand or i am in a drift boat with clients. «Edited: September 20, 2010, 07:28:13 PM by curado »
