Has anybody checked this new show out on FSN?  It has some absolutely unbelievable HD footage!  Really, really cool show filmed in some unreal places.  This last show was on Kamchatka, which has always been one of my dreams.  Some day...............maybe? Hopefully!  Grin

Great show on Sunday mornings.  My favorite show so far is on the Nestucca River just outside of Pacific City, OR,  I plan a trip there on 20 February 2011.  I hope to enter a pic in this month's Photo Contest.  Wish me luck.

Later,

That show isn't bad except Ive been watching it for the last 4 months and have only seen the same 6 or so episodes get played over and over....and over again. One other plus thing though is I dont have to hear Wayne give shout outs to Fetha Styx and P-junk every 5 minutes like Glen. great

The JoF show does repeat several episodes, maybe too frequently. IMHO, they're limited in footage, variety, and maybe travel money at the moment, especially after that Kamchatka trip. They did have one show on sturgeon fishing, but at the moment they seem to be emphasizing Oregon steelheading. That's ok by me even though I'm a ways north of their destinations.

But, the shows they have aired display spectacular, if not "enhanced" scenes. (They gotta' be using some warming filters in their video that really makes for some "unreal" colors.) I don't recall ever seening water that green and yet gin clear...but then, what do I know? I'm used do Puget Sound area rivers that are either chocolate milk or "normally colored" clear water and, unfortunately, are often SHUT DOWN.

The JoF's not much on rigging info or pushing specific gear, but I always wind up hungry after their segments with the culinary staff at the community college that's listed prominently in their credits. All in all, JoF is a very professional production (unlike Taj G and Hawg Quest's often indecipherable audio and average quality video). The HQ crew does get around and shows many more locales in their programs. And, I've yet to see the JoF personalities admitting to seasickness, or early morning shots of them crawling out of bed at 0-dark-thirty... At any rate, I don't mind Glen plugging the Pucci's stuff and "Feth-ah-so-Styx," since they ARE major sponsors. After all, besides providing the gear, sponsorship money keeps HQ on the air, and that really beats the alternative.

All the episodes can be watched at their website. "The Joy of Fishing" reminds me of the quality film work of Larry's "Fishing the West", may he rest in peace.

Some of the footage in the Kamchatka episode is absolutely fabulous.  Some high-end hardware they're toting there.  That's the only episode I've seen so far, but so far so good,

With all this chatter, I set up my DVR to record it this weekend. I'm a big fan of well done video and quality audio, plus anythin gon the topic of fishing, well that's just a slam dunk!

I also think the  same issues of repeating shows over and over is with Seasons on the Fly. I've seen the same shows over and over. They seem to be from last season too. Not to hijack this thread with another show topic.

Cheers.

This show has some unreal footage! very well put together. As far as just six shows that is not bad considering the budget restrictions are on shows like this. I'd rather see 6 episodes that are full of great footage than 24 mediocre episodes

I met Wayne last year down at the NW Sportsman Show. He gave me a DVD of a couple short episodes and explained to me that he was developing a show and hoped to have it on somewhere in the future.
A few months later I put that DVD into my computer and watched the show. I was amazed at the High Def Quality and the story lines etc. Several months after that, one Sunday morning, there he is, on the tube.
I had the opportunity to catch up with Wayne this year at the Sportsman show again. We spent a couple hours talking about many things relative to his show, NWwildcountry, Washington State, Pautzke's etc. Perhaps there is some work to do with him in the future. A really, really good guy and between him and his cameraman, which is the whole production crew, they are putting out one very good show.
