Ok  so I never have much trouble picking up steelhead on cloudy, overcast, or stormy days. When the weather is clear and sunny, however, my luck always turns bad.  I like to drift corkies and helgies mostly, but do throw a spoon at 'em too. I have yet to find a good combination that works. Any suggestions on what to use on clear sunny days? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

A single rubber egg with a little bit of wool usually does the trick. (jensen egg, mad river egg etc)

I like small Baits(egg clusters) or tarnished copper or brass spinners or Flat black spinners.
Find deeper water under ledges and fish faster riffles as the fish will be using these for cover.
Cover plenty of water and enjoy the scenery,Sunny days are great days even when the fish are not willing to bite so spend sometime just soaking the whole experience in......... Cool
My comments are targeted more towards summer run fishing. Winter run fishing I do not think it matters since the rivers are higher and probably colder so a sunny day may just help get the fish to bite. Some flash is what it takes when the rivers are cold.

Ive always found as far as winter steelhead on bright sunny days with low clear water I seem to do quite well.  I wouldnt say i change up my baits/lures much or at all but i do notice the fish tend to hold in the deeper or faster moving sections and at the head of the holes... under the rapids provide good cover.  Not as many tailout fish on bright sunny days.  Also need to be more sneaky than days when water color off and overcast/raining

In the summer... first light/last couple hours of daylight in the evening.  or any shaded area or tight to cover.

Not a problem Big Tom. I've become more and more impressed with how well an all black spoon works in clear water with bright conditions. They fish.

Some great tips that I will surely try this weekend. Should have one day of sun and one day being overcast. Hopefully I can lay the wood to them on both days. I appreciate all of the help.
