Went out yesterday to a not so local river. Got into some Winter Steelies. Anyways, I love my Rainshadow but I have had a few snap already... No abuse just randomly break. Anyone else having that problem?

Nice fish. We have 3 rainshadows in our household and haven't had any issues so far

Have you called them about that? I build on and fish Batson gear, and have not had a problem, even when bringing up the accidental halibut jigging for kings. Out of curiosity what was the model number? I'm probably going to swing over there tonight after work.

Ryan,

Are you using Braid on your reels when the rods snapped?

No braid and drag obviously set appropriately with 10 or 12 # CXX

Extremely odd. Huh Especially since in the photo your rod appears to be well taken care of...meaning still looks brand new.

Have you talked to Karry or anyone else at Batson in regards to the repeat failures?

Out of the couple hundred Rainshadow/Forecast rods I've built, only 12 have seen misfortune. Broken 6 personally (all my fault in non-fishing situations), and repaired an additional 6 for customers.

Sorry to hear your experience hasn't been similar.
