My buddy and I have been fishing almost every weekend many different styles and different rivers around my area to try to get one of these beautiful creatures and finally I can say that I've had enough fortune, luck and guidance to land a few of these this weekend!  bop

Thanks to Steelhead Notebook for the tips and tutorials that showed some great techniques.

Native steel released back to the wild! What a weekend!

Happy fishing all.

Sweet!  Welcome to the club.  It is a strange club inhabited by obsesive compulsive day dreamers, but we like it.

Welcome to your new addiction. My first trip my buddy told me he would lend me the gear to land my first steelhead. Then he told me after that it would cost me 1000's of dollars to feed my addiction. He was right! There is no head like steelhead. I love it.

Welcome to the forum dude. Smiley   Hope you have fun finding in trying to find that first steelhead. This is a great place to get started learning about steelhead. Catching a steelhead depends less on what river you are fishing, than it does on HOW you are fishing, and how many potential-fish-holding-locations you show your lure to. Check out the tips and tutorials sections of the website. In them the creator of this website gives out some of the best info about the basics of steelhead fishing.
