For all you folks that fish the S rivers the pinks are in the lower river
We have caught fish from Dagmars Landing to the Hiway 9 bridge.
Think pink gear.

they are already up pasr sultan. The river is full but the ones in the sky seem to be very lockjaw. Can only get them to bit on twitched jigs but even then its tough. Goog luck humys can be fun on light tackel.

For what it's worth, the Sky is closed to fishing for salmon until Sept. 1st.

But since it's not worth much to most guys... for lockjawed humpies in water with some flow, try a size 1 50/50 dick nite drifted like you would a corkie/yarn. If the water has less flow, like in the Snohomish, where it makes more sense to target the humpies right now anyway, just cast out straight and retrieve slowly.

Thanks for the update from ground zero Jiggy! Im thinking of making my first ever trip up there this year, and with 700,000 humpsters around it should be interesting if nothing else laugh

How long is the run expected?  I don't get back up there until Sep 20th, I'm stuck in San Diego.

navychief,
they will be there. Maybee a little darker by then but if you arent looking for food they are fun to catch. They also seem to bite better later in the year for some reason so you should be good to go. You will be back just in time for the skagit humps and silvers also. It would be nice if there was ever a steely in the sky. Spent way too many hours up there this year. Well if anyone needs sky reports dont be afraid to ask.....im there almost every day.
Good luck

Navychief, it'll still be loaded then for about 10 more days. Usually it's thinned out by October.

Wheres the Snohomish at? Is it north or south of Tacoma? I really want to hit some new water and if I can catch fish at the same time all the better.

The Snohomish runs from around Monroe to Everett. I went out to Tualco today and fish were everywhere. Couldn't seem to figure out what they were hitting, but did see a few guys landing nice fish.  Huh
